Halina Garl

Halina Garl is a singer, songwriter and performer.

Ever since she can remember she was singing. This has always been her love and passion. Her family wasn't very musical, although her father could definitely hold the tune.

During her teenage years in Poland Halina would always look for an opportunity to perform in front of larger audiences. She sang at local events and participated in singing competitions. She also took some singing lessons and started her 1st studio recordings. Her idols at the time were Celine Dion, Whitney Houston and Edyta Gorniak, she greatly admired their vocal styles.

In 2003 Halina moved to England in order to explore more opportunities in the music industry. Here she performed at open mics, clubs and local venues, at the same time studying vocal and songwriting at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in London.

Halina's musical style has changed over the years. Her initial fascination with jazz music resulted in songs like "3 Bottles of Champagne" and "On the beach in Half Moon Bay" - both part of her debut album released in 2008 on her own record label. As part of the album's promotion Halina was featured on the NuTalent slot on NuSound Radio in East London and she was also a guest on George Matlock's radio show on Orla.fm. One of the songs from this album "Chasing the wind" reached number 4 in the UK's original unsigned chart run by tourdates in 2013.

Most recently Halina returned to what she feels is her true love - pop/rock music. Her songs describe life in real time, from the ups and downs of love and heartbreak to overcoming obstacles and never giving up.

"Music speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind and gives it rest, heals the heart and makes it whole, flows from heaven to the soul"
